The Garden

This has been a true labour of love.

We started with nothing but brambles, box hedges and lawn and a tiny wooden shed.

Inspired by many National Trust gardens in this area such as Barrington Court and Tintinhull and the delightful gardens of privately run Cothay Manor and Hestercombe, it has taken 12 years to create a garden that we are happy with.

Duncan rebuilt the old Victorian greenhouse and added a larger storage shed and carving studio where he creates the beautiful stone carvings that can be found artistically placed around the house and garden.

The in situ willow structures have all been created by local craftsman Jay Davey.

Guests are welcome to explore the White Garden, Kitchen Garden, Potting Shed, Herb Garden, Orchard, Jewel bed (yes -inspired by Monty Don) and more recently the long herbaceous border along the west wall.
